Brit Hume Says “Chickens are Coming Home to Roost” on First Stimulus Spending - Video 7/9/09
Here is video of Fox News’ Brit Hume’s commentary last night, July 9, 2009, where he said talk on Capitol Hill of a 2nd Stimulus Plan was being accompanied by the sound of “chickens coming home to roost.” Hume says the failure of the first stimulus so far to make a difference in the economy is because it was really not designed to stimulate the economy, with very little to help small business or provide genuine tax relief to Americans. He suggests they could still take some of the money not yet allocated and redirect it to tax relief and to spur businesses to hire workers.
I think the chances are “slim to none” that the Democrats will do that. The $787 billion of the first stimulus may not have yet been spent, but you can be sure it has already been promised to someone the Democrats want to keep happy. You won’t see that money redirected to what it should have been used for in the first place.
NOTE: Hume’s “Chickens coming home to roost” remark should remind President Obama of another time, and another . .
